Happy New Year! Wait, what..., is it really?
Picture

No, I'm not sure that it actually is. We are nine days into 2021 and:
  • There has been a historical event in and around the Washington D.C. Capitol - It seems the only thing we all can agree on is that the USA may have actually hit rock bottom.
  • We are knee deep in a pandemic, and even though we have made it to the year 2021, we still do not seem  technologically advanced enough to be able to DIY a face mask that doesn't fog up our glasses.
  • The new year is in its infancy and I may have already met my health care plan's deductible.
  • My unwritten Christmas cards are still sitting on my dining room table
  • Oh, snap. I wrote this short blog and didn't hit POST.  To boot, in the time I thought it was being read, it seems that 2021 has become like one of those free magazine subscriptions.  You know, the ones that you let roll into the next year, were charged for and now even Mr. Google cannot locate any identifying information about the company which allows you to unsubscribe? If you stay tuned for my next blog, I will go explain the reason I forgot to hit POST. Trust me, you will be able to relate.
Until then, it is clear to me that 2021 is in need of a mantra to keep us going. No worries! I have home delivered your New Year's poem and it contains two mantras for you to choose from. Also, I will be working on turning the poem below into  "A Peek into Poetry"  video poem/blog  geared to the future decision makers of the world; you know the ones--they are currently fighting for the right to eat cake for breakfast and renegotiate bedtime. Until then, enjoy Which Will You Choose?

Which Will You Choose?
Woulda, coulda, shoulda
Did you hear the shouts?
Woulda, coulda, shoulda
Did you not speak out?
Woulda, coulda, shoulda
They’ve fallen on deaf ears.
Woulda, coulda, shoulda
A casualty of fears.
Woulda, coulda, shoulda
But it wasn’t only me.
Woulda, coulda, shoulda
I’m in stellar company.
Woulda, coulda, shoulda
To heed an inner voice
            I should, I can, I will
Is to never regret a choice.

Blogger's note:  I do want to stress that your interpretation of this poem is not a confirmation of my motivation for writing it. This poem will take on personal meaning to you and you alone and I dare not  influence how you interpret my words.  The one thought I will cop to is that these words are a reminder to contemplate listening to your conscience.  What your conscience is telling you goes from your heart tor your own ears.

I wish you all a happy and healthy 2021 and look forward to memes that celebrate a successful and peaceful transition from last year's poop show and our current cluckduckery to a "Breaking News" free, mundane, boring, day to day, week to week and month to month 2021. Oh wait, February begins another impeachment trial.  Let me clarify: I wish you all a happy and healthy 2021 and look forward to... yada-yada-yada...month to month 2021, beginning in March, 2021.

Yay for boring!
